Thora Birch.
I just downloaded Ghost World off iTunes and it's got me thinking, what happened to Thora Birch? She went from American Beauty and Ghost World to, in just a few short years, being in Lifetime's Homeless to Harvard. What did she call someone in Hollywood the N or Jew word or something? Oh, and there was that weird thing a few years back with her dad showing up on set to help direct her in sex scenes. Yuckers!

I always wondered about that myself. because she was so good in those films, and then.. she just disappeared. Then I saw in her in a trailer for another real movie, and it was disturbing, because she was all scary-skinny, and it was all like "man, you used to be really, really pretty when you had a normal body". But maybe she's gotten back to that, I don't know.
She's super pretty and a decent good actress to boot. After re-watching Ghost World I started wondering if she has any animosity about Scarlett Johansson's post-Ghost success? At the very least I'm sure it would be an occward conversation if they ran into each other.

TB : Well, em, I've got an Eric Mandelbaum film coming out where I play a science student and employee at a local massage parlor...then after that I'm starting in the movie Cavegirl...as...um...Cavegirl. (clears throat)

TB : ...
SJ : Wanna have a boob contest?
[queue Benny Hill theme song as an old man, Scarlett Johansson, and Thora Birch run after each other in a sped up chase sequence]
