Wow. Today I got a email that I vaguely remember sending myself a year ago. Futureme.org is a website that you can send emails to yourself and set them to arrive at any point in the future. I sent this to myself a year ago today. Some background, Maw Maw B is my Grandmother Baker and Poppie is my grandfather on my mothers side.

Dear FutureMe,

I've tried. I want to be like Maw Maw B. There is no one on this earth as kind hearted as her. I want to be like my Poppie. Few People have his patience. I'm from the same genes but I'm not like them in the ways I'd like to be yet, maybe it just comes with age. What I am. I'm a good friend. I'm a good listener. I get lost in my own thoughts but I think about the people I love a lot. I've got a ways to go but I'm a good person. I've had good people raise me and good role models. I'm working on having enough knowledge to know myself and be able to express and explain my actions.

I'm not sure what was going on with me exactly at the time but with all the thoughts and emotions I have running though me lately with the baby on her way the heartfelt analytical hindsight did me some good.
